About Us
NORCO Propane Energy Services/North Collins Cylinder Gas is a locally owned and family-operated full-service regional supplier of propane gas for residential, agricultural, and commercial applications.
In 1945, after WWII, the company began life focused on the emerging local refrigeration and air conditioning markets. Soon after, we started offering propane in the form of 100-lb. cylinders to local hot water and cooking accounts. Then, in the late 1950s, bulk propane was added to the product mix when we received a contract to deliver propane to the brand-new New York State segment of the Interstate-90 project. Our future seemed secure.
In 1983, James V. & Joan E. Renaldo purchased the company from Jim’s parents, John & Dorothy Renaldo, and they immediately set about increasing our bulk propane storage, adding delivery vehicles to our operation, modernizing our back-office technology. Then in 1999, we added another service location in Springville, NY. Since then, our business has grown to include over 500,000 gallons of propane storage with two locations, servicing propane and compressed gas customers in Erie, Cattaraugus, Wyoming, Allegheny, and Chautauqua Counties.
In 1999, we also started operating under the name NORCO Propane Energy Services to identify the company with our long-established relationship and proximity to the Town and Village of North Collins, NY.
In 2018, management of the company passed to the third generation, Jim & Joan’s three sons, James K., Jeffrey, and Jon Renaldo. The Renaldo family of companies includes NORCO/North Collins Cylinder Gas Co., Inc. (1945), Renaldo Sales & Service Center, Inc. (1964), Niagara Energy, LLC (2003), and the Buffalo Southern Railroad (2021).

In 2003, the Renaldo Family started another propane venture called Niagara Energy, LLC. This company was tasked with building a 365,000-gallon underground propane storage facility and throughput facility adjacent to a rail line operated by the Buffalo Southern Railroad in North Collins, NY.
This propane storage facility and rail terminal would be supplied by various wholesale providers over the years to serve the growing number of retail propane operators in the Western New York (WNY) area. Each year, we provide millions of gallons of propane to almost every retail propane operation in WNY, including: Amerigas, Ferrellgas, Superior Plus Propane, NOCO Energy, NORCO Propane, Pioneer Propane, Irish Propane, TPS Propane, Suburban Propane, Hometowne Energy, Drum Oil & Propane, and others.
Transport Delivery Service
In addition to the propane storage and throughput facility, we can also coordinate propane transport delivery services throughout Western and Central New York State and Northern Pennsylvania. Our fleet of transport trailers, operated by North Collins Cylinder Gas, offers a one-stop solution for retail propane companies doing business in New York State. Also, in the same convenient North Collins location, you’ll find cut-to-length, full-length, or sheets of steel and aluminum available from our sister company, Renaldo Sales & Service. Renaldo’s also offers welding, fabrication, and repair services, and provides support to NORCO in the form of heavy- and medium-duty truck repair and maintenance. Renaldo Sales also offers custom-made hydraulic hoses with a large selection of fittings and hose sizes available to meet a variety of applications.
